How Can I Help?

The success of the Lone Oak High School Band program depends upon hours of volunteer help from parents of students participating in the program or simply those who want to help. We will be providing a direct e-mail link in the near future for those who wish to help the band as a volunteer. For now, e-mail the Webmaster using the link at the bottom of the page with all needed contact information and the areas for which you would like to provide help. Your message will be forwarded to the correct individual, who will in turn contact you directly.

Listed below are some of the opportunities to serve and be a part of the band's successful year:

Flag Sewing - Cut and sew flags for the guard show
Water Parents - Serve drinks to thirsty marchers during practice
Phone Committee - Telephones band list whenever needed (Band Booster meeting reminders, banquet reservations, etc.)
Car Wash - Parental "chaperones" at each location throughout the day (TBA)
Uniform Moms - Take care of the uniforms/taxes and help students do the same. Send to the cleaners when needed. Any time the students are in uniform/tux, the moms have to be there. When there are enough moms, each mom doesn't have to be at each event - there is flexibility. Uniform moms also make sure each student has the proper fitting uniform before school begins.

Drink Coordinator - Make sure drinks are provided for the band after each performance.
Pit Crew - Helps with equipment and set-up for Marching Band performances - contests and football games
Christmas Dinner - Chair and/or help Before Christmas Concert
Parade Helpers
Fruit Sales Coordinator - Coordinate fundraiser Nov.-Dec.
Honors Banquet - Coordinate dinner, decorate for event
Spring Honors Concert/Senior Reception - Plan reception
Lone Oak Golf Scramble - - Chair or help plan the 2 Annual Golf Scramble to help pay for our new low brass instruments.
